Trunk or treat--the first of the Halloween activities began yesterday. We went to Elan's grandparents' church to their fall festival. Ellery was sugar and spice and everything nice (and her brother was the rest of the nursery rhyme). You can see what fun she had pushing her wagon (looks like it was hard work) as well as riding in the wagon and eating her first ever lollipop. She also thought she should eat the balloon string . Her costume held up pretty well, but I will have some more sewing to do. A few sugar packets were pulled off.

Ellery is 1! It is hard to believe, but the baby is becoming a toddler. For her party we had her grandparents come for dinner, presents, and cake. Elan remembered it was her birthday as soon as he woke up. His first words of the day were "It is Ellery's birthday." I tried to sing her happy birthday but he told me that Dee and Pop weren't here yet and I had to wait. Her cake was a healthy carrot cake. It tasted OK, but we mainly let Ellery enjoy it and then threw it away. Pictures and captions below tell more about the evening. (Sory everything got out of order. This won't let me move the pictures in a different order.)
